Calculator Methodology

LocalBizzInfo calculators are deterministic estimation models based on configured assumptions and service formulas. They provide planning estimates, not bids or contractor quotes.

Inputs, calculations, and ranges

Each active calculator uses an explicit service formula with supported inputs and known units. Inputs without a supported numerical relationship are not presented as estimate-affecting fields. Estimate ranges are deterministic modeled bands produced by those formulas and are not statistical confidence intervals.

Evidence and review

Evidence is reviewed component by component. Verified means eligible evidence supports the applicable value and scope. Partially verified means evidence supports only part of a relationship or context, not necessarily its price. Reference-only material provides context but does not verify a monetary assumption. Candidate evidence is still under review and cannot verify a value. Legacy-unverified values are retained historical assumptions without accepted current support. An official technical or wage source does not by itself validate contractor billing rates, job hours, or installed prices.

Location adjustments

Stored state and city multipliers are retained for historical audit. A geographic factor changes runtime pricing only when its matching evidence is verified, current, active, and matches the stored factor. Legacy-unverified or otherwise ineligible factors use a neutral 1.00 runtime effect. Location routing therefore does not make an estimate verified local-market pricing.

HVAC model semantics

The HVAC calculator derives an input tonnage value from its configured estimation rule and separately selects a legacy model cost band for pricing. The legacy model cost band does not represent measured equipment tonnage or replace a professional load calculation.

Limitations

Actual contractor pricing can differ because of project scope, materials or equipment, labor conditions, property conditions, permits, contractor pricing, local market conditions, timing, availability, taxes, and other project-specific factors. Confirm requirements and obtain written quotes from qualified providers.
